Danescastle Music Group is a traditional Irish music group based in Carraig-on-Bannow, a rural village in South West Wexford. The group was founded by Martha Torpey and John Marshall over twenty-five years ago, and presently caters for over one hundred pupils between the ages of four and twenty.

Áine Kennedy is currently Music Director of the group. Martha, Áine and a host of gifted local musicians provide tuition to the pupils.

"This being the first CD recorded by the group, it was difficult to decide which tunes to include. We decided to record tunes and songs, which are favourites with the group, together with some recent compositions. I would like to acknowledge the composers of the tunes and the musicians who shared them with us. This CD was recorded by Rob Canning and was made possible with the support and funding of Wexford County Council. I would like to thank Fr Jim Kehoe and the Board of Management of Danescastle National School for the continous use of the school, Pip Murphy and all those who helped with this project.
