Scallta Comment: The long-awaited sequel from Wexford writers.
Includes new work from Mogue Doyle, Katie Donovan, James Liddy, Eamonn Wall, Larry Kirwan (of Black 47) and Philip Casey.
The second coming of THE SCALDY DETAIL follows and builds upon the first installment, originally published in 2005. The brainchild of Enniscorthy based LAUNCH PAD, an initiative founded to promote the work of aspiring Wexford writers and supported by grants from Wexford Co. Council's Arts' Office, the new issue features a lively mixture
of creative work - stories, poems, essays, plays, and screen plays - that combines the work of such established writers, nationally and internationally, as Philip Casey, Katie Donovan, Larry Kirwan, James Liddy, Mogue Doyle, and many more with the work of up and coming writers. Some of these new writers are publishing their work for the
first time.
Edited by Eamonn Wall, the material ranges far and wide from the kitchen to the hurling field, from graveyards to nature reserves, from country to town. Always lively and engaging, this new publication provides a glance into the writing being done in our midst. We are certain you will be amazed at the talents on show and delighted to
find such good writing emerging from our county.
Launched by reknowned Wexford playwright Billy Roche in December 2007, this is "a fine journal, and one that will be a Godsend for the potential writers of the future, along with established ones."
